I am Emma Jane, I am a female singer songwriter and I record and release my own music. I decided to set up this gig that includes three 4 artists performing including myself. The other artists are called, Daisy Summers, Madeleine May and Rihanna Grace.
Mark Farrar is an interviewer I have worked with before and he will be at the gig doing short interviews with the artists. This is so that the girls can post them on their socials and their audience can get to know a little bit more about them.
The whole point of this gig is to bring attention to up and coming young female singer songwriters and help them get more of an audience and more listeners who are from their demographic!

Come and discover two exciting new voices in contemporary jazz at Hyde Park Book Club, Leeds.
Sarah Heneghan brings her trio to Leeds following the release of her new album Tiny Sacred Gaps. A meeting point between contemporary jazz, Nordic jazz, folk, minimalism, post-rock and ambient electronics, the music is built around lyrical flugelhorn melodies (Charlotte Keeffe), gently patterned piano (Ben Gaunt) and highly textural drumming (Sarah Heneghan). Expect atmospheric soundscapes, rhythmic interplay and music that evokes landscapes, long train journeys and changing coast and countryside.
Timothy Knowles cut his teeth with nu-jazz upstarts Beyond Albedo and minimalist sensation Emergence Collective, cultivating “a voice all his own” (Whitman Review) as a guitarist and composer. Tim is joined by dynamic baritone saxophonist Martín Berger (Pitanga), incisive drummer Maeve Thorpe (Maeve Thorpe Quartet), and brilliant pianist/vocalist Antigoni Anastasiadou, performing original material inspired by Wayne Shorter, Radiohead and Scottish traditional music. Debut album, Kissa, will be released in spring 2027.

Norwegian singer songwriter Maren Davidsen returns to the UK this autumn with her debut album This Is Where I Leave You. Originally from Norway, Maren moved to London to pursue her music career, and now returns with a deeply personal record that has already begun attracting international attention.

This Is Where I Leave You is a vulnerable and intimate album about losing yourself in a relationship, and finding your way back. Dom Glynn & His Sunday Best is the sound of Birmingham-born songwriter Dom Glynn bringing classic American country and honky-tonk traditions into the modern day. After years spent honing his craft in UK music venues and across Europe, Glynn has become a seasoned performer and songwriter influenced by legends like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr. Now leading a dynamic electric band featuring Telecaster guitar, bass and drums, they deliver high-energy live shows that get audiences dancing. A Different Kitchen, a project fuelled by remorse and shared through personal experience. Blurring the lines between psychedelic-rock and post-punk, the Norwich-born outfit have specialised in writing thoughtful and achingly personal songs, exploring the darker side of grief, loss and social injustice. The quintet pairs a unique blend of fragile emotion and unfiltered raw energy, resulting in an intense listening experience designed for live consumption.
After receiving accolades from Tom Robinson and Emily Pilbeam on BBC Radio 6 Music for singles ‘BBQ Dog’ and ‘I’m Fine I’m Fine’, A Different Kitchen were subsequently tipped by the pair as Ones to Watch in 2025 - leading to a slot at Sheffield’s ‘Get Together’ Festival, alongside established acts such as English Teacher, Swim Deep and Adult DVD. With rapidly growing momentum, the quintet expanded their discography with two EP releases in 2025, 'Denouement’ and 'Revolt'.

Malcolm Middleton is a Scottish guitarist and songwriter best known for his work with Scottish indie band Arab Strap. His solo career includes seven albums, starting with 5:14 Fluoxytine Seagull Alcohol John Nicotine (2002) and ending with Bananas (2018). Blending introspective lyrics, indie rock and pop, his music explores themes of depression and human relationships with a darkly humorous edge.
As well as collaborating with artists such as David Shrigley and Mira Calix, Malcolm has composed soundtracks for the films Rogue Farm, Munro and The Closer We Get.
He also records as Human Don't Be Angry and Lichen Slow.
Malcolm is currently (still) working on his 8th solo album and will finish it at some point...

Craven are an English and Welsh cinematic folk trio based in the South West. Their music toes the line between symphonic weight and ethereal delicacy. From yearning and bitterness to white hot rage, Craven explore themes of queerness, transness, solidarity, and anti-war sentiment through traditional ballads.

21st-century mod Cian Downing and his backing band will hit the road again in 2027 to promote the release of Cian's second album, No Place to be Young. Cian's blend of Paul Weller and Billy Bragg-esque songwriting with the rhythms of 2Tone and 20th-century soul will be on show, as Cian and his band play the new album from start to finish, plus a number of class tracks from his debut album, The Grassroots to the Sky, and earlier releases. Cian is a DIY artist with no management, booking agent or record label, and is putting on this tour entirely by himself, so remember, every single ticket purchase goes back to the musicians performing on the night.
Support comes from the fantastic Scarlett Fever, a young mod revival 4-piece from Crewe, Cheshire, who will bring plenty of energy and attitude, and certainly get the crowd going.

Genre-blurring collective The Parachute Testers introduce a deeply atmospheric sound with the release of their forthcoming debut album, Halfway to Everywhere on October 30th 2026 and a return to HPBC as part of their UK tour in April 2027 after a sell out show in the snug in September.
Blending grounded, earthy folk with ambient and indie textures, the band create music that feels both intimate and expansive.

Em Craig is a Saxophonist and composer based in Glasgow, recently featured on the final of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Jazz Musician competition 2025. Their music is defined by their boundaryless attitude, freely pulling sounds from a wide berth of musical styles. Expect groove, virtuosity and a big heart from this special performance.
Em Craig is one of the leading voices in young British Jazz. They are joined by: Nils Kavanagh (Young Irish Jazz Musician Winner 2022): piano; Bailey Love: drums, Lizzie Beesley: guitar; and Benedict Stephens: double bass.

An evening of music, art, and solidarity as we come together to raise money for the We The Free (WTF) Leeds branch, an animal rights activist organisation. The fundraising evening will consist of a broad variety of artistic acts, a bake sale, a raffle, talks from active campaigners, and plenty of time to mingle with like-minded individuals! The Parachute Testers are a group of sonic explorers featuring musicians from Leeds, Ireland and The Ukraine. Blending soaring female vocals reminiscent of Mazzy Star, London Grammar and The XX with soundscapes in the realms of Elbow, This Is The Kit, Zero 7 and Massive Attack.
Debut album ‘Halfway To Everywhere’ is due to land in September 2025 and the band bring their captivating live sound and visuals to the Hyde Park Book Club for an intimate stripped back performance. A full European tour follows in 2026.

For a number of years, Nina Lim has been at the centre of London’s alternative music scene. Having studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama she established working relationships as a violinist with Black Country, New Road, Jockstrap, Geordie Greep and M.T Hadley. More broadly she has performed for more alternative pop musicians JADE and Little Simz and arranged strings for Holly Humberstone, and Anne Marie.
Through years of collaboration, touring, and session work, Nina has developed her craft right on theboundaries between pop and alternative. On her debut EP The Flowers I See You In, Ninush offers something emotionally resonant, rich in character and playfully kaleidscopic.
Made in close collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Sam Tsang (Bon Iver, Griff, Chloe Qisha), the pair work freely and without constraint. All The Flowers I See You In may have Pop sensibilities, but could hardly be described as a Pop record. Lim is far more concerned with creating exciting, intricate worlds to explore.

Formed around frontman and songwriter Eamonn McNamee, the band have built their identity through a deep immersion in the lineage of soul, drawing inspiration from the emotional directness of Sam Cooke, the groove of Stax Records and the enduring spirit of Northern Soul.
“We’ve always been drawn to soul music because it says something real,” McNamee explains. “There’s nowhere to hide in it. It’s direct, it’s emotional, and when it’s right, it connects with people immediately.”
Across new album Hope and Recreation, that approach is brought to life through rich arrangements, punchy horn lines and a rhythm section that moves with warmth and momentum - capturing the feel of a band playing together with intent.

Whether lambasting tech billionaires, crooked cops, or purity culture, Shiv and the Carvers’s ridiculously fun, anti-authoritarian anthems make for an impeccable show indeed. Incubated in the dusty warehouses of Toronto’s roller derby scene, the band’s “Josie and the Pussycats meet Bikini Kill” sound has been conjuring rapturous mosh pits across their hometown of Toronto and well beyond. Led by the electrifying vocals of Shiv Scott and featuring guitarist Nicky Maxwell, bassist Annie Jane Marie, and drummer Mike Wiznuk, Shiv and the Carvers’s riot grrrl punk brings people together in righteous anger. Pedro Giomo is a Brazilian born, Czech Republic raised, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter making waves in Prague's indie scene. Pedro crafts a distinctive blend of indie rock, alt - rock and shoegaze, merging dreamy guitars and atmospheric textures with heartfelt, introspective lyrics
Jamie Wray is a Yorkshire-based indie folk singer-songwriter and skilled guitarist making music that lives in the details. His songs are rooted in acoustic writing but lean toward texture, mood, and space.
Hilden Park are a duo-fronted Indie Rock band from the North of England. The music varies from wide, almost ‘cinematic’ rock to soft and delicate guitar led tracks, with a heavy focus on creating a strong atmosphere. Their sound has been described to have the heaviness of bands like Linkin Park, Foo Fighters and Mallory Knox with the emotional content of artists such as Radiohead, Ben Howard and Foals.

Maya Blandy is an Anglo-Portuguese singer-songwriter blending soul, jazz and contemporary pop. Inspired by artists such as Sade, Dua Lipa and Bruno Mars, she combines soulful vocals, elegant songwriting and modern production with influences from both her British and Portuguese heritage. She co-wrote her debut album with producer Jake Wherry from UK hip-hop/jazz collective The Herbaliser
She's had radio support from BBC Radio 6 Music (Craig Charles & Huey Morgan), plus BBC Introducing Manchester (her home city). In Portugal, her videos have featured on MTV Portugal, and she's also had Spotify playlists on Equal Portugal and New Music Friday Portugal. In summer 2026, she delivered a new single " I Don't Need", a fierce soul-pop anthem blending powerful vocals, funk infused grooves, and polished soul/pop production.
For this HPBC Snug show, she's performing her original songs with a stripped back line up of vocals accompanied by keys and sax. Perfect for a small intimate show.
Marmalade Skyes
Support comes from Leeds alt-soul singer Marmalade Skyes. Already a well established artist on the local music scene gigging at venues such as The Domino Club, Oporto, Belgrave Music Hall and Hyde Park Book Club, she's just released a new single "Gimme Love & Gardens". She will be performing an intimate duo set of her original compositions.

Following the success of her debut record, Clever Rabbits, produced by Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Ray LaMontagne) and released by indie label Man Made Tigers, Ann Liu Cannon retreated into the landscape of her home county and came out the other side with a whole new sound. Ann brings brand new music to Leeds for a very special show of sincere and spooked Anglo-pop-folk, nestled in her Wicker Man-meets-Twin Peaks universe.
Thomaz Martin is celebrating the brand new release of his debut album, ‘Nostalgia For Modern Times’; also released by MMT. A session musician by trade, Martin cut his teeth and calloused his fingertips playing in Brazilian jazz ensembles across the capital. His swamp-rock debut album which came out June this year sees the Brazilian born blending Hendrix sensibilities and Cobain faux-grunge with swaggering folk-pop.
They will be performing their songs together and solo, and joined by special guests.
