RAFFFFFF has been writing and releasing rap music for 20 years, both solo (under the name Raphael Attar) and as emcee and frontman with electronic space-jazz outfit Paper Tiger. Now, after time out the game raising kids and pursuing a Proper Job, he returns with an album of tales from the frontlines of everyday bullshit – falling asleep on the floor, walking into parked vans, descending into the abyss of short-form video, burning out and finding hope in love.

Entirely produced by Greg Surmacz (XVI Records), An Ordinary Life combines elements of future jazz, UK rap and electronic hiphop, with RAFFFFFF delivering his trademark humour and lyricism over woozy synths, skittering beats and live instrumentation. The result is a perspective rarely heard on the scene – the voice of a middle-aged man juggling work, family, and the strains of modern life, just trying to get by.
