Modern Woman, the London art-rock outfit fronted by primary songwriter Sophie Harris, are set to release their anticipated debut album ‘Johnny’s Dreamworld’ on May 1st 2026 via their new label One Little Independent Records. ‘Johnny’s Dreamworld’ represents the culmination of Modern Woman’s journey from Harris’s early, intimate songwriting project into a full-bodied band capable of folding post-punk, avant-garde, and folk traditions into a live force of dynamic originality. At its heart, the record explores the strange poetry buried within the ordinary. Harris’s lyrics, steeped in literary detail and filmic atmosphere, draw from a fascination with the dark underbelly of the everyday and the contradictions of womanhood.
Harris explains, “A vital theme I’ve always wanted in Modern Woman is the idea of conflicting things, of the tender/harsh, loud/quiet and scrappy/polished. The style of everybody’s playing, drawing from a melting pot of influences, coming together to form something new.”
Modern Woman’s sound emerged from years of creative refinement. The band coalesced when Harris met violinist and composer David Denyer, who brought a background in experimental composition and textural sound work. Joined by Juan Brint-Gutiérrez on bass and saxophone and Adam Blackhurst on drums, the group forged a style that values the contrasting harsh edges of folk lyricism and noise that collides with melody. Working with producer Joel Burton (Naima Bock, Katy J Pearson, Vanishing Twin), they found a live immediacy that channels the raw intensity of their performances into a sound that is both rich and unpredictable.

Grifton Forbes-Amos is a trumpet player from the UK. Hid project merge the differing aspects of Jazz whilst including the soulful playing within other genres like Gospel and Soul Jazz. Additionally, he pays homage to the styles of his Latin influences which culminates in a fusion that creates a form of Jazz that's like candy to your ears.

Three years since their last show, life has quietly reshaped everything. Two solo records released into the world, new bands formed, old rhythms broken, and a magnetic pull back toward each other that couldn't be ignored - Penny Isles' sound remains unmistakable-fuzz-drenched, melody-rich, and charged with feeling. Now expanded into a true three-piece with drummer Joe Taylor, Penelope Isles sound bigger, looser, and more alive than ever. Just when Sean Solomon thought he was out, they pulled him back in. The songwriter had stepped away from the mic, making the difficult decision with his bandmates to put his Sub Pop-signed band Moaning on indefinite hiatus and recalibrate. He poured himself into animation — an obsession and dream job that quickly became a reality. He made music videos for Run The Jewels and Unknown Mortal Orchestra and CHAI and Odd Future. He was living a dream, but it was only part of the dream. He still heard chords when he went to bed, ached for the feeling that artists like Elliott Smith, The Microphones, and Neutral Milk Hotel gave him.
The itch returned, so he started writing again during the pandemic. He couldn’t imagine a life without songwriting, but he pursued it free from the expectations that come alongside a career in the industry. It allowed him to make music that felt closer to his ideal self than ever before. “That's when it clicked and I started making this kind of music where I didn’t give a shit what anyone thinks.”
One of the songs he recorded with producer Jarvis Taveniere (Whitney, Purple Mountains, Waxahatchee), was a track called “Car Crash.” It was inspired by his unwillingness to drive, despite being from Los Angeles — facing his fears and learning how to navigate an automobile, then getting in a horrifying wreck that was completely his fault.
After writing and recording, Solomon was restless enough to simply drop a live performance video online without fanfare. His entire life changed. Almost immediately after being released, the song had found a massive audience; his audience. The simple guitar melody and raw, in your face vocal performance resonated with people everywhere. “Life is chaos, love is pain,” Solomon sings. The chorus, which features Shannon Lay, is short but packs a mighty punch. “I think people are reacting to the sincerity and honesty. I’m just being myself,” Solomon speculates. Everything is algorithmically curated, and “Car Crash” feels like the exact opposite — a spur of the moment flash of brilliance. It’s vulnerable and you can hear the feelings Solomon works through as he sings. It’s a splash of cold water on a hot day.
It’s a tale so morally-driven that it belongs in a self-help book. “Follow your dreams, honor your vision, and good shit happens.” More like, work your ass off for a decade honing the voice you’ve always heard in your head, follow the light that keeps you up at night. Then, just maybe, you might find your fan base. That fan base might be 10 hardcore devotees, or millions of views across social media.
As for “Car Crash,” Sean had no idea it would resonate with people the way it has. “Kids were covering the song before it was even released. It’s so touching. It’s amazing,” he marvels, before hedging his bets: “This was all a surprise. I'll take what I can get.”

Shaking Hand are a Manchester trio who construct long slowburning post-rock in multiple tunings and time signatures, taking inspiration from modernist architecture, 90s US alternative and midwestern emo. The band's musical DNA runs through experimental guitar outfits like Women, Slint, Sonic Youth, Pavement, and Ulrika Spacek, balanced with the melodic sensibility of Big Thief and the dynamic intimacy of Yo La Tengo.

We can't wait to welcome Canned Pineapple, the 5-piece scuzz-pop and slacker rock group based in Brighton. The quintet consists of the songwriting partnership of Seán Drury and Oakley Gardiner alongside multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer Jude Allenby, guitarchitect visionary Gabe Rice and master of the rhythm stick Charlie Pringle.

Cigarettes for Breakfast are a Philadelphia-based band known for their lush soundscapes and raw, emotive, fuzzed-out performances. Founded by Matt Whiteford, Latest album, "Slow Motion," showcases a more personal and vulnerable approach to songwriting while expanding on their modern take of classic shoegaze and dream-pop sounds. The band's live performances are known for their immersive experience, intended to be listened to all the way through.
Waves Crashing are a Seattle-based band known for their unique blend of grunge, gaze, dream pop, alt, and shoegaze. The band features Josh Calisti on guitar and vocals, Bryce Albright on drums, and Zach Olson on bass and backing vocals. They have gained recognition for their critically acclaimed singles and their debut album 'Effection'.
Abandoned Buildings are a Lynch inspired Shoegaze, Dreampop, and alt quintet from Bradford. Recently supporting Henge, Whitelands & Kelley Stoltz.

Grace Cummings brings her most ambitious and unsettling work to Europe and the UK this November. Bloodhorse! — out August 14th via ATO Records — is the fourth album from the Melbourne-born singer-songwriter, and it arrives as a bold leap into new territory. Recorded in Topanga Canyon with GRAMMY-nominated producer Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, Margo Price), the record finds Cummings pushing her extraordinary voice — that deep, feral, stop-you-in-your-tracks alto — into music that shudders with synths, tense strings, and woozy grooves alongside the campfire intimacy she built her reputation on.
Where Ramona opened up her world, Bloodhorse! plunges into the dark of it. Themes of life, death, agency, and self-examination pulse through an album that is by turns lush and violent, confessional and defiant. It's music that feels as much as it sounds.
Following a run of European dates supporting Father John Misty and a sold-out London headline show at The George Tavern, Cummings will bring Bloodhorse! to life with her full band this fall. Not to be missed.

Pinpointing the specific catalyst for an avalanche can be slippery — any combination of classic elements, human interference, or freak accident can trigger disaster — and documenting these precise moments often rests on serendipitous reflexes. On Two Wheels Move the Soul, Robber Robber offer themselves as ignition and capture every sound in the wake. Involuntarily thrust into the throws of rootless nomadism, Robber Robber ringleader Nina Cates collects a series of pressurized vignettes to assemble the Burlington quartet’s thrillingly explosive sophomore album.
Two Wheels Move the Soul was written and recorded throughout the winter of 2024 and 2025, a season of Cates’ life characterized by near-constant upheaval. In January of 2025, Cates (and Robber Robber co-founder) Zack James were displaced from their longtime home at the behest of a landlord’s call to have their building demolished. In a moment’s notice — and amidst a particularly brutal Vermont winter — Cates and James were left to fend for themselves. Luckily, the two were able to tap a deep well of support within their community, finding respite on the couches of Lily Seabird, Greg Freeman, and Thus Love’s Echo Mars. An unused attic provided their longest arrangement.
The personal and economic chaos of living at the mercy of nameless powers-that-be redirected into a hyperfocused attention on Two Wheels Move the Soul. Returning to Little Jamaica Studios — one of the sites for their acclaimed debut Wild Guess — Cates, James, guitarist Will Krulak and bassist Carney Hemler hunkered down with their trusted engineer Benny Yurco. The familiarity between the cast of characters allowed the studio to become a sanctuary, and foregrounded Two Wheels Move The Soul’s constant foray into sonically adventurous terrain. “Everywhere else that we had to be, we were very much visitors,” James recalls. “When we were working on the record, it was nice because it felt like this is our space.” Still, an overwhelming sense of impending doom hangs over Two Wheels Move the Soul. Every scribble on the guitar thins the air, each stab of percussion and wave of distortion makes it that much harder to breathe.
On Two Wheels Move the Soul, landslides come early and the news of their arrival is just as chilly. Propelled by Cates’ nonchalant bars — inspired by the effortlessly-cool cadence of Gucci Mane and Lou Reed — Two Wheels Move the Soul saunters in and out of frame with the implicit assurance that any gaze will follow. Album opener and lead single “The Sound It Made” rattles into existence, eschewing exposition to plunge directly in the deep end. The polarized extremities of Robber Robber’s sonic palette fuse throughout Two Wheels Move the Soul, spanning post-punk scorchers, burnt-out slacker anthems, and melodies that sweeten the bitter pills stomached along the way. “Yes I know, gotta work for my pay,” Cates exhales on standout “New Year’s Eve,” a swaggering depiction of life’s myriad impediments. “I’m tired, so is everyone - how can I complain?” Cates wastes no time indulging in the miseries of late-stage capitalism, opting instead to resolve casual disappointment with a cool composure. “What more is there to do?,” Cates asks on “Pieces,” the slow-burning b-side intro that plainly lays out what happens when your life falls apart: “you’ll end up with a piece.”
Working through the discomfort of class, upheaval, and catastrophe is a central philosophy on Two Wheels Move the Soul. “You can leave it, but it follows you home,” Cates buries beneath incendiary bursts on “It’s Perfect Out Here in the Sun.” Easy to miss, it is a possible catalyst nonetheless. In the midst of the avalanche itself, the sparks ignited throughout Two Wheels Move the Soul fall by the wayside, and all that’s left is the wreck. “Upend, upend,” Cates intones atop kinetic and relentless instrumentation. Then the pressure cracks again. “So we dance.”

Ormella heads out on her debut UK tour. The London songwriter makes ethereal indie folk that runs darker than it first lets on: close, narrative songs carried by a deeply emotive voice. It follows her record Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea on Sweat Entertainment — a seven-track study of heartbreak, distance, and the slow resurfacing that follows. Plantfood are a blood-pumping jazz force summoning an onslaught of electronic and acoustic sounds with influences ranging from heavy hitters like The Prodigy to the spiritual explorations of John Coltrane. The Soup Dragons formed in Bellshill in 1985. They signed to Bristol-based label The Subway Organization in 1986 and released their breakthrough hit Whole Wide World soon after, the track reached No. 2 on the UK Independent Chart. The band then signed to label Raw TV and had further chart success before releasing their debut This Is Our Art in 1988. In 1990 they released their biggest UK hit, a cover of I'm Free by the Rolling Stones. They then released Divine Thing which became their biggest US hit.
The band split up in 1995, with all members going on to other ventures. Sean formed The High Fidelity then became DJ HiFi Sean, Paul Quinn joined Teenage Fanclub, Sushil K. Dade formed Future Pilot A.K.A and has had a career as a producer for BBC Radio 3, Jim McCulloch joined Superstar among other musical projects and Ross Sinclair has had a successful career as an artist, writer and musician, he is a professor at Glasgow School of Art.

Aaron Brooks is an alternative/indie folk artist based in Leeds. Focused on a blend of abstract evocative lyricism, distinctly gentle but rhythmic fingerpicking and emotive vocal performances, their music reaches to capture a complicated but universal range of human emotions. Whether playing as a solo singer/songwriter or with the delicate textures of their unconventional backing band, their songs always maintain a subtly disarming quality.
Their upcoming 'Live EP' imbues the songs with a sense of immediacy, utilising partly improvised band parts and completely live recording to echo the magic of music that simultaneously feels fully crafted and in the process of forming.

At the heart of Montreal’s Elephant Stone is Rishi Dhir, a songwriter and sitarist who has spent twenty years blurring the lines between Western psych-pop and Indian classical tradition. What began in 2006 as a quest for transcendental sound has evolved into a singular, self-contained vision. Operating out of his Montreal home studio, Sacred Sounds, Dhir has emerged as a true studio auteur – producing, engineering, and mixing the band’s increasingly complex and cinematic output.
With a discography spanning 10 acclaimed releases, Elephant Stone remains at the forefront of the modern movement, constantly deconstructing the past to find something visceral, haunting, and undeniably human in the present.

The song was premiered by Gary Davies on Radio 2, while Gabriella’s rediscovery continued with a packed show at The Great Escape as well as a nationwide tour as special guest to Beverley Knight. Now that comeback hits a new peak as she announces that her new album ‘Pure Love’ will be released on 9th October 2026 and is accompanied by the release of the new single ‘YRU Hanging Around’ out today. Elf Traps bring their debut album tour to Leeds. Formed by Mercury Prize nominee Rob Turner (Mammal Hands, ex-GoGo Penguin) and Liviu Gheorghe (ex-Matthew Halsall/Gondwana), they fuse spiritual jazz with glitch, jungle and live electronica - drums and synths tangle with drum machines, samplers, chopped vocals and robotic percussion, swinging between calm and explosive peaks. Special guest Shunya (Alan Keary), son of guitarist Dave Keary (Van Morrison), moves between violin, bass and vocals, blending futuristic Irish folk, jazztronica and electronic sound. The Rabbitts craft music that blurs the lines between folk, alternative, and atmospheric pop. Known for their delicate harmonies, immersive arrangements, and a sound described as “ethereal and understated” (BBC Radio 6), they create songs that feel both intimate and cinematic. Critics have called their work “hypnotic... crafting a meditative spell” (Obscure Sound) and “intricately lush and completely captivating” (Podcart).
The Norwich-based band began 2026 with an immersive and isolated creative retreat in the mountains. They now have a new album set for release on November 13th 2026. This show is part of their UK album release tour, where songs from the new album will be performed for the first time alongside a few old favourites. This tour follows on from their 2025 tour which sold out multiple shows around the UK, and the release of their record ‘Orbital Collection'. The Rabbitts are an ever-evolving group who are constantly creating and rarely staying still.

Second album The Intermittent Signal follows 2025’s self-titled debut and raises the stakes. This is the sound of resistance, with arrangements that have moved beyond the bare bones economy of the first record to find new levels of intensity. Clarity and conviction ring true through the static and noise, while utopian ideas to remodel a broken system gain traction.

James Yorkston is a singer-songwriter and author from the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. Since 2001, he has released a series of acclaimed albums on Domino Records and toured them worldwide. Arc of Triumph are an alternative rock band from Leeds, known for their cinematic soundscapes, rich harmonies and a lyrical obsession with the rise and fall of empires - both personal and political.
Formed by long-time collaborators, Simon Elvin and Rory Holl, what started in 2017 as a studio experiment quickly snowballed into something bigger. With no name and no fully fleshed out agenda, they began writing and recording tracks that would eventually become their debut, self-titled album.
In Summer 2025 the album was Revisited, Remixed and Remastered and also released on VINYL for the first time.

Alien Chicks are a trio hailing from the streets of South London, known for their electrifying blend of punk, rap and jazz. The lineup features the vocals and sharp guitar work of Josef Lindsay, the pulsating basslines of Stefan Parker-Steele, and the explosive drumming of Martha Daniels.
The band’s journey began in grassroots venues across the city, in particular The Windmill, Brixton, where their high-energy performances and unique sound helped them build a loyal following. Their relentless gigging paid off, leading to sold-out shows at iconic spots such as The Lexington, and the 100 Club. Now, their sights are set on Oslo Hackney as part of a UK mini-tour to celebrate the release of their second EP ‘Forbidden Fruit’ on 9th May 2025.
Before then, they head out on a headline tour around Germany and the Netherlands, and two support tours with Pom Poko and Lambrini Girls. This adds to the list of renowned acts they have shared stages with, including English Teacher, Fat Dog, The Libertines, Warmduscher, and Big Special. This summer, they will be appearing on festival stages across the country as well as in Germany and France.

Somehow, 2024 saw the 30th anniversary of the birth of Glasgow, Scotland’s Disco/Punk legends bis. 2025 sees them move in their fourth decade of a rollercoaster existence. A whirlwind first 18 months saw them go from playing to a handful of curious future fans in Glasgow basements to peak-time TV stardom on Top of the Pops and filling huge tents at festivals across Europe all while still teenagers. While the UK media was in equal parts enamoured and horrified by the unorthodox musical DNA of the band, their knack for a nagging melody, unrelenting energy and wide-eyed politics saw them hit big in Japan, nearly breakthrough in America where they had label support from the Beastie Boys and touring with a diverse range of acts reflecting the disparate range of influences the band had – Foo Fighters, The Cardigans, Bikini Kill and Pavement to name but a few. Whilst perhaps best known for early Riot-Grrrl influenced hit ‘Kandy Pop’ or the later slick Techno-Pop of ‘Eurodisco’, the band are also known worldwide as creators of the original theme to ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ cartoon and for the appearance of ‘Statement of Intent’ on the soundtrack to the ‘Jet Set Future’ videogame.
After 3 albums and countless singles, the band temporarily called it a day in 2003, frustrated by record label struggles. They would reunite occasionally (an Islington Academy sellout in 2007 and a triumphant Primavera in 2012 amongst others) but returned with renewed vigour in 2019 with the ‘Slight Disconnects’ album and again in 2022 with the Rave-influenced ‘Systems Music For Home Defence’.
As part of the 30 year anniversary celebrations, the band performed a stand-out sell-out show at Glasgow’s iconic St Luke’s which gathered fans from around the globe as well as respect contemporaries like Mogwai and Franz Ferdinand. With their reputation as a must-see live band gathering pace even now, upcoming shows in 2025 will provide a real treat for hardcore fans and newcomers alike.”

Forged from a fireless market town with Tolkien-esque hills and Lowry style mills, British Birds straddle the landscape of Northern life through their colourful garage rock song, like a dawn chorus in an apocalyptic smog.
Stories of personal experience and ‘the everyday’ flow through their songs like the nearby canal networks. Hues of psychedelia tint their music like the confusion of modern day life, with a sombering melancholy seeping from its pores like a quintessential Northern drizzle, and their pop heartbeat thumping on like the industrial hammers.
Lead vocals are delivered by siblings Bobby (guitar) and Emma (synth and percussion). The 5-piece is complete by Mike Ainsley (drums and guitar), James Robinson (bass) and Dom Lawson (drums).
Operating from their HQ-cum-nest in Chorley, the band have established a reputation as one of the most exciting live acts in the UK. Mad-cowbell infused They have toured with BC Camplight, The Lovely Eggs and The Bug Club and have self-released two albums and an EP; In Search Of Mr Rykyn (February 2024), Sucking Funny EP (August 2024) and Silence Daedalus (June 2025).
Their first album for Skep Wax Records, Murmurate, Oscillate, will be released on 16th October 2026.

The realest-deal storyteller in indie-rock today is the Tampa-born, New Orleans-based singer/songwriter Thomas Dollbaum, and Birds of Paradise is his most powerful and dynamic work yet. Following up his critically acclaimed Wellswood (Big Legal Mess, 2022) and Drive All Night EP (Dear Life Records, 2025), Birds of Paradise is a goodbye letter to lost loved ones and former selves. These songs find Dollbaum searching for acceptance in the transient in-between places: Florida’s pine flatwoods, backroads leading to 1-95, where birds fly across the water. And even though the ghosts of his alt-county predecessors Townes and Molina are definitely present, on Birds of Paradise, Dollbaum emerges from their shadows–waving to the past, sounding all the more like himself.
This moment–this album–is long overdue. Both of Dollbaum’s previous releases had taken way too long to record, due to circumstances out of his control, leaving him frustrated. And after having been away from his home for eight years, the place he had left was no longer the place he remembered, and the unchanging of the natural world felt like a constant he wanted to write about. With a sense of immediacy, he wrote Birds of Paradise in three months. Called up the musicians he trusted and admired the most–Nick Corson, Josh Halper, and Jake Lenderman–and asked them to meet him at Dial Back Sound in Water Valley, Mississippi with producer/engineer Clay Jones. They learned and tracked the album in four days, capturing lightning in a bottle, a sonic revelation Dollbaum’s writing has always been waiting for.
“Big Boi” recounts the time high school-aged Thomas got roped into giving a couple (outside the Waffle House) a ride to pick up drugs at a pill mill. At a time in indie-rock when many singer-songwriters like to proclaim they’re Southern, Dollbaum knows it’s more complicated than that. “One day I'll take you down to a place that you can never get out/ Couple splinters in the wall, nothing to brag about,” he sings steady and direct after realizing the mess he’s in. It brings to mind the short story “Samaritans” by Larry Brown, where the narrator is tormented for having a helping heart. Like Brown, Dollbaum miraculously examines entrapment with generosity.
“Pulverize,” the album’s hardest and darkest rocker, is sorta like another short story, “Time and Again,” by Breece D’J Pancake. Both song and story are told from the point of view of a man plowing down the road, picking up strangers, trying to forget real awful things they can’t mention. Dollbaum was inspired by the time he tried to drive across Louisiana overnight but then, halfway, decided to turn around. In “Pulverize,” Dollbaum’s narrator is too afraid to look back. “You should have seen me/ out of Texas in the high moon/ Playing with God riding across the border cooped up/ in a hoopty to the promised land,” he struts. Lenderman harmonizes with Dollbaum on the chorus, “Pulverize this heart.” Dollbaum sings the next line alone, slinging his voice the highest it’ll be the whole album: “I don’t even need it.” And by the end of the song, he’s screaming with an intensity we’ve never heard before: “It’s fine, it’s fine, it’s FINE.”
But it ain’t just grown men trying to move on in Birds of Paradise. “King’s Landing” playfully frolics from the point of view of little-kid Dollbaum growing up near a little private airport. And he’s got big dreams of flying him and his folks outta there. “I wish I could take us from this town,” he sings. But knowing this dream is “probably a waste of time,” he suggests going home and watching “Judge Joe Brown/ And reruns of Cops episodes in our home town.” “I hope we catch one where the bad guy gets away,” Dollbaum offers some optimism, “Maybe he’ll steal a small plane/ Fly off to the everglades/ Build us a home out of water and snakes.” When there’s nothing else, survival and imagination are the same thing.
With the help of Lenderman, Halper, Corson, and Jones, Birds of Paradise is Dollbaum’s hard-won breakthrough. Alive and echoing like the poems and short stories you can’t shake: coyotes howl, birds fly south, kids chase rabbits through the sugar cane, and cigarettes are four dollars a pack. Birds of Paradise reminds us where we come from–the things inside ourselves we’ve forgotten–we just needed Dollbaum to show us. Here’s how to look back without fear or shame. Here’s authenticity.

Meeting at the intersection of the loner-folk, cosmic country and kraut-laden choogle, from Doggone’s opening pulse of rhythms to its closing cascade of synths, listeners encounter a musician fully rooted in the creative community around him and firmly held by the life he’s built over the last decade.
Where his past several releases saw the New Jersey native settling into life in the Pacific Northwest – observing, appreciating, getting the lay of the land – and finding his footing in the alt-Americana sphere into which he unexpectedly fell, with Doggone, he’s immovable, intentional, and most of all, at peace.
Committed to nurturing his local circle, he called upon a faithful group of Portland-based collaborators, a rolodex of heroes-turned-friends, like producer-composer Ryan Oxford (Y La Bamba, Rose City Band), bassist Alex Chapman, and drummer Dana Buoy (Akron/Family). Together they gathered at the Center for Sound, Light and Color Therapy to record Doggone, which was then mastered by Amy Dragon (Big Thief, Nathaniel Rateliff and Moon Duo).
He also left plenty of room for others to be welcomed into the fold, with freak folk hero Devendra Banhart offering guest vocals on the album’s lead single, ‘Out of Tune’, which is out today. Built around a mellow country groove and dreamy cosmic pedal steel, it’s a sweet and chilled out indie love song about being in sync with your person, moving through the universe as one while still upholding your individuality.
Call it comfort, call it kismet – what resulted with Doggone was nine tracks backlighting life, love, and purpose, like doggone wonders held up to the light. The album explores themes of community, aging, carving out your own version of success, planting seeds and growing roots, and the impact of place on creative work.

Paul Marshall returns to the stage for a rare live performance-his first in over a decade-celebrating 20 years since the release of his debut album Vultures. Performing under his own name rather than the Lone Wolf moniker he retired in 2016, this special show will span songs from across his career, including material written as Lone Wolf.
A former Bella Union artist, Marshall earned a reputation for his atmospheric songwriting and distinctive voice, becoming a quietly influential presence in the UK's alternative scene. Over the years, he has shared stages with artists such as José González, Graham Coxon, Philip Selway, St. Vincent, Wild Beasts, and Bat for Lashes, and collaborated with the likes of Alan Wilder (Depeche Mode) and Linton Kwesi Johnson.

With Iguana Death Cult’s latest iteration, the band laments on personal stories of hardship and doubt whilst fixing their gaze on the burning world around them. Guitars, percussion, synths and a whole lot of soul-searching is all that Iguana Death Cult needed for their recent resurrection. As part of a personnel change the band gained a strong new line-up, including the dazzlingly virtuous drummer Uri Rennert (previously in Häxxan and Brian Jonestown Massacre). This new era of Iguana Death Cult’s existence is channeling their earlier punk and garage style while simutanously feeling unmistakeably like a product of today. It is characterised by razorsharp and highly rythmic riffing by Tobias Opschoor and the relentless drumming by Uri Rennert. By the ever-groovy and effortlessly cool percussion and synths by Jimmy de Kok and by the hefty yet heartfelt voice of frontman Jeroen Reek, guiding the listener through feelings of despair, anger and solace, in that very order. Iguana Death Cult is a band who have made quite the miles in the last decade. Started as a group of young friends in 2014 wanting to make rock ‘n roll, the band has risen to great heights including touring with Osees, Frankie and the Witchfingers, supporting Jack White, playing SXSW, Levitation Festival and Desert Daze and doing multiple successful US tours. On their new record Guns Out, released via Greenway Records, Iguana Death Cult is excersing self-reflection on multiple levels: by breaking with the more indie-like, art-punk-funk sound of their previous album (Echo Palace, released through Innovative Leisure in 2023), returning to a more ‘in your face’ punchy garage rock style. Secondly, by confronting a behaviour of escapism, and the toll that way of living takes on the self. And finally by ways of questioning their ways of writing music, returning to a faster, more spontaneous process. Guns Out is an album that’s tough and rigid on the outside but soft and contemplative on the inside. Moreover, it is the story of a band coming to terms with their own existence in the world they live in.

Kelley Stoltz is an American songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and DIY innovator whose career stretches back to the late 1990s, when he began self-recording lush, psych-tinged pop and garage rock in his San Francisco home studio. Born in New York City in 1971, and raised in Michigan, Stoltz has released a remarkable catalog of albums on labels including Sub Pop, Third Man, and Castle Face Records often playing all of the instruments himself and drawing comparisons to the melodic craftsmanship of the major 60's pop auteurs and the quirkiness of lesser known 80's power-pop & new wave.
After issuing his 18th album, La Fleur in 2024 to critical notice, he returns in 2026 with his 19th full-length release, If You Don't Know Me, Buy Now, a collection that continues his long exploration of hook-laden psych-pop, introspective lyrics, and richly textured arrangements that both honor his influences and push his sound forward, reinforcing his status as one of the most prolific and singular voices in underground rock. Guests Brigid Dawson of the Osees, Karina Denike of Dance Hall Crashers, Pete Straus of the Dwarves and Allyson Baker of Dirty Ghosts and other guests provide backing vocals on several tracks.
Long a favorite of MOJO, Brooklyn Vegan, and John Dwyer... Stoltz is also a onetime Echo & the Bunnymen rhythm guitarist and currently Robyn Hitchcock's West Coast drummer. Stoltz is also now the host of legendary radio station KEXPs weekly Bay Area Music spotlight show, "Vinelands".

Pixie McCann makes ethereal “weird music for weird girls,” pairing haunting vocals with intricate live-looped performances that have built a deeply engaged online following and millions of likes across her socials.
She started busking when she was just 11 years old and her immersive live shows have quickly translated online momentum into real-world demand, earning her a support slot with Erin LeCount on her UK tour alongside slots at The Great Escape, Truck, Latitude and Boardmasters this year.
A devoted fanbase drawn to her otherworldly sound and intimate, whimsical world-building congregates in ‘Pixie Hollow’, a Discord community of over 840 superfans who join regular Zoom and in-person meetups and even share in her creative process through a collaborative Pinterest board.
Having written, produced and managed herself up until now, her next release Deja Vu sees her elevate her sound with additional production from Joel Pott (London Grammar, Shura, Joy Crookes, George Ezra). The track came from a recording Pixie took on her walk home after a night out at 5am, capturing birds and passing cars, which she built the song around in a couple of hours.
“I wanted it to sound like dawn. It’s about a codependent relationship where two people can’t escape each other. Not being able to cope on your own and relapsing into someone who is bad for you but comfortable.’

The queer vegan shitpunks, Joe & The Shitboys, formed with the intention of calling out shitty behaviour in the conservative Faroe Islands, where the rock scene is filled with boneless homophobes and meat-eating misogynists - and continue to take their aim at general vibe killers everywhere.
The live shows are full of energy, with a barrage of songs often under a minute long, like “Save The Planet You Dumb Shit”, "Life Is Great You Suck" and “If You Believe in Eating Meat Start With Your Dog”, being broken up by the flamboyant frontman roasting the audience relentlessly.
The band (Joe, Ziggy Shit, Johnny Shit and Ollie Shit) have played every type of venue there is; roof tops, public toilets, opening ceremonies for North Atlantic sub sea tunnels, museums and skateparks, and have also appeared on their fair share of major festival line ups around Europe and North America.
To date the band have released three albums, ‘The Reson For Hardcore Vibes’, ‘The Reson For Hardcore Vibes Again’, and ‘The Reson For Hardcore Vibes III’ - all receiving critical acclaim despite their modest and unconventional (aka punk) 10 minute total run time.
Among their numerous and vocal champions, Iggy Pop has recently hailed Joe & The Shitboys as the most exciting band in the world right now - and he’s not just talking. After using the band’s new single ‘MR. NOBODY’ as his walk-out music for a number of shows, he’s now invited them to join his 2025 UK tour, including a massive show at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. As a long-standing advocate for the band, Iggy has played their output extensively on his BBC Radio 6 Music show, but his support goes even further. In his NME cover feature, he revealed that he played their music to Blink-182’s Travis Barker before he laid down the drums for album track ‘Neo Punk’ and even shared his admiration for the band with none other than Rick Rubin on the Broken Record podcast.

Aziz Ibrahim is a Manchester-born guitarist and composer whose career cuts through some of the most iconic names in British music. From his early days with Simply Red to stepping into the shoes of John Squire in The Stone Roses, Aziz has built a reputation as a fearless and versatile musician.
A sought-after collaborator, he has worked with Ian Brown, Paul Weller, Asia, Steve Hogarth of Marillion, and Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree, contributing to acclaimed recordings and electrifying live performances.
Now, 25 years after it was first recorded, his long-lost debut album Lahore to Longsight finally sees the light of day. Featuring an all-star lineup including members of The Smiths, The Stone Roses and Primal Scream, the album stands as a powerful statement of Aziz's artistry as both a guitarist and frontman.
Released as a limited-edition double vinyl for Record Store Day 2026 and backed by a full UK tour, 2026 marks the long-overdue arrival of one of Manchester's most compelling musical voices.
The Invention
Leeds band The Invention made their way in the 00s music scene gigging in the north and London extensively, leading to a debut album release through Japanese label Vinyl Junkie, and then a tour in Japan in 2007. ‘Voltage’ from that album also won Radio X track of the week.
After a long hiatus, the 4 piece recently recorded and released a new album of euphoric anthems in 2025. Musically somewhere between The Verve and The Killers, ‘Tomorrow Took Everything’ was released on Spotify and limited edition vinyl available in select independent record stores from Leeds to Los Angeles.

Hyde Park Book Club & Hapless Museum Worker present...
The Primitives emerged from the UK independent music scene of the mid-1980s with a sound that distilled the shimmering guitar chime of The Byrds, the buzzsaw style of The Ramones and 60's girl group melodies into two-and-a-half-minute pop gems.
After topping the indie singles chart several times, their widely acclaimed first album, Lovely, made them one of the UK’s most revered alternative rock acts, while the international success of the single “Crash” saw them cross over to a mass audience. Further chart success followed, along with two more studio albums, Pure and Galore, plus extensive tours of Europe and the US, before the band called it a day in 1992.
In 2008, Mojo Magazine named The Primitives’ second single “Really Stupid” one of the top 40 greatest UK indie singles of all time.
The band were reunited in 2009 by the untimely passing of their original bass player Steve Dullaghan, reforming to play a show in his memory later that year in their hometown Coventry; their first time on stage together for 17 years. Bolstered by the success of this and of a secret show in London, they went on to tour the UK in April 2010, followed by shows in the US and Europe.
In 2011 The Primitives released the Never Kill A Secret EP through Fortuna Pop! The record featured two brand new songs and two covers of female fronted pop obscurities, the latter two being a taster for the covers album Echoes and Rhymes, released on Elefant records in 2012.
An album of new original Primitives songs entitled Spin-O-Rama was released in 2014 and was showered with lavish praise; the general opinion being that it sounded like an alternative follow-up to their classic 1988 debut album Lovely.
In 2025 Elefant Records put out the double vinyl collection Let’s Go Round Again - Second Wave Singles & Rarities 2011 - 2025, featuring new material along with all of the A sides, B sides and miscellaneous tracks that the band have released over the past 14 years.
Since reforming The Primitives have toured the UK multiple times, performed all around Europe and paid several visits to the US and Japan.
The current line-up of the band includes original members Tracy Tracy (vocals), Paul Court (guitar/vocals) and Tig Williams (drums).

Anti Camera is the experimental trip hop, post-punk electronic project exploring expression and glamour on stage. On stage they sing about real life experiences, addiction and past lovers. With a new EP “I Love Hotel” on the way Anti Camera is one of the most exciting projects coming out of the London scene right no.
Stuart Mckenzie is the solo performance artist, poet, illustrator etc. Stuart Mckenzie sings confessionals of life in 1980s and early 90’s over electronic sample beats reminiscent of runway tracks. Mckenzie glimpses into the fashion industry of the time and teenage life in the North of England, where sexualities are challenged and identities forged amongst excursions into club culture, as a means of escape.
Freyja Blevins current member of loud electro noise rock band Bathing Suits, comes to the stage alone with only but her drum machine, singing to indescript noises and deconstructed resampled jazz beats reminiscent of an old tape recording from a far away smokey city.

Imagine this: you’re standing at the train tracks and a freight train loaded with a bunch of cheeky daredevils comes at you full throttle. Someone’s half hanging out the open carriage, reaching out an arm for you to hold on to - inviting you to hop on for the ride of your life. That’s what it feels like to be thrown into the sonic world of PLAIINS.
Founded during the pandemic that held the globe in a standstill by frontman Chris, the Brit and his two German bandmates create a moving sound that’s informed by their deep love for alternative, punk and indie. Naturally, their 2025 debut album HAPPY FACES is full of playful riffs and dancey grooves - paired with witty lyrics that manage to talk about social issues and all-too human struggles without ever taking themselves too seriously.
Inspiration for the trio comes from bands like Queens Of The Stone Age, IDLES, Viagra Boys and Fontaines D.C., but also from personal life, politics and pop culture. On lead single ROW SHE SAID, for example, singer Chris draws from his experience with the aftermath of Brexit and the rise of right-wing, nationalist politics both in his home country, the UK, and in his adopted home Germany. Set to the background of heavy hitting, hard riffs and driving verses, this is an example of the more serious moments on the album. It shows a band that believes in the importance of taking a clear stance.
Contrasting, the playfully teasing SPORTS BAR pokes light-hearted fun at long nights watching football games at the local pubs, a tradition that is ever-present both in the UK and Germany. The shout-along chorus with a groove reminiscing of The Hives at their greatest puts you right there, arm over shoulder with your best mates, shouting at the TV hung above the bar.
PLAIINS is not a band that limits itself to any one genre or topic. Still, their sonic identity is clear cut and recognisable. Even though they just released their debut album, they already made a name for themselves as one of the most exciting up-and-coming bands. Not least because of their ferocious power-washer of a live show that leaves no body unmoved, whether at their headline shows or on tour with Press Club, LEAP or Itchy.

Beautiful dual vocals with bubbly pop sensibility, it's a total treat of a live show.

Lunchtime Heroes headline, a neo-soul four piece from London built on warm, vocal led grooves. Daisy Dalby is a Leeds singer-songwriter who pairs intimate lyrics with acoustic led melodies and raw vocals, and who headlined here herself earlier this year. Elefem is romantic, northern and introspective, blending R&B and soul with a modern edge. Opening the night is MAAME & The Midnights, an independent Leeds artist working across pop, soul, R&B and ballads.

Blending folk traditions from Afghanistan with jazz, electronics and psychedelic rock, Kefaya & Elaha Soroor have crafted a unique, beautiful fusion of cultures, voices, and rhythms that transcends borders. Their sound is a powerful testament to unity, resilience, and the beauty of diversity.

The Rootikal Expression Session comes in with the first event after the summer, bringing some musical artists to the mix, alongside the resident selectas coming together on Impressa Soundsystem.
Impressa, Sis Star Selecta and Being One are returning to the Hyde Park Book Club for the third event of 2026.
The musical artist for this one is James Krusz, who will bring some smooth sax lines and jazzy licks with a reggae soul. He picked up the sax 17 years ago and spent his teenage years playing in classical wind orchestras at venues such as the Royal Albert hall. It was in his twenties that he was drawn to the free and expressive nature of jazz and improvisation, starting to use music as a tool of self-expression and self-development. His musical journey then sent him towards sound system culture after attending an Impressa sound system event. Over the past couple of years he was been sharing his live sounds at dub sessions, performing in bands and recording for local artists.

Mallavora are a multi-faceted quartet from Bristol, UK. Their sound blends prog-tinged alt.metal with vocalist Jessica Douek’s Jewish-Middle Eastern roots to create an intoxicatingly crushing mix that sits firmly in its complexity.
Guitarist Larry Sobieraj distills his experience of chronic illness into urgent, expansive instrumentals that are completed by bassist Ellis James and drummer Sam Brownlow. That feeling is then translated through Jessica Douek’s vocal performance, which moves fluidly between vulnerability and aggression. Together, they create something that feels less like performance and more like dialogue - an ongoing exchange of emotion that doesn’t always seek to be understood.
Recent achievements include festival appearances at Download, Boomtown and 2000 Trees (mainstage); Alyx Holcombe’s Track of the Week on BBC Radio 1; Spotify editorial playlisting on All New Metal, Women Of Metal, The Pit, Hard Rock; tastemaker press support from Kerrang! and Metal Hammer; and tours across the UK.
They have also appeared in less conventional places. Vocalist Jessica lent her voice as the ‘banshee’ for the BBC’s TV show ‘The Celebrity Traitors’, and their single “Smile” was the soundtrack for a runway show at London Fashion Week.
Mallavora’s conceptual debut album “What If Better Never Comes?” is out now, released on 27th March 2026 via Church Road Records.

Having shared the stage on tour with Lucy Spraggan earlier this year, Matt Dunwell (Solow Choir) got a real taste for presenting these songs in their purest form. This September, he brings an intimate acoustic performance to the unique setting of Hyde Park Book Club.
Stripping back the full band arrangement, Solow Choir delivers raw, atmospheric indie songcraft with the focus firmly on pure songwriting and honest delivery. Opening the night as special guest support is Molly Warburton, bringing her soaring vocals and compelling pop-folk energy to round out a special evening of live music.
