Slam Dunk Presents…

For Albany, NY’s Downswing, darkness isn’t just a theme—it’s the environment they’ve learned to endure. On their new album, And Everything Was Dark, the band transforms grief, betrayal, and loss into something raw, heavy, and defiantly honest.

Since 2016, Downswing has evolved into a modern metal powerhouse, balancing massive breakdowns, soaring choruses, and atmospheric depth. Vocalist Harrison Seanor, who joined in 2020, sums it up: “This is the first time it feels like we’re doing exactly what we want. We’re not chasing trends. We’re Downswing.”

With Seanor, guitarist Anthony Salvaggio, bassist Chris Arnold, and drummer Nick Manzella, the band pushes further than ever. Tracks like “For What It’s Worth” and “Glass House” dive into addiction, heartbreak, and letting go, while “Serpent” closes the album with crushing intensity.

Early releases (Dark Side of the Mind, Good Intentions, New Lows) built their underground reputation, while streaming success with “Bound to Misery” expanded their reach. Influenced by heavyweights like Wage War and Bad Omens, Downswing has forged a sound that feels deliberate, cathartic, and fully their own.

Live, they channel pain into power, commanding stages alongside D.R.U.G.S., Attack Attack!, and more. Downswing isn’t just evolving—they’ve arrived.

Angel Number

Hailing from the north of England, Angel Number are a genre bending rock band who have maintained a consistent DIY approach, expanding their mostly self-created world further, and are ready to make an indelible mark on the UK music scene.

Known for their haunted, synth-driven soundscapes, they have been described as alternative, shoegaze, neogoth, or "electrogaze", incorporating influences beyond genre while drawing comparison to artists like HEALTH or Holy Fawn. Angel Number’s impressive musical journey so far has gained them attention and support within the British alternative scene from the likes of Daniel P Carter at BBC Radio 1 who most notably selected ‘Omen Of The Night’ as track of the week upon its release and previously included the band in the ‘Getting To Know’ segment. Other supportive tastemakers include Kerrang! Radio’s Alex Baker and Alyx Holcombe at BBC Radio 1 Introducing, Rock Sound and Alt Press. Alongside appearances at notable UK festivals such as The Great Escape or Burn It Down, the band have previously toured with the likes of Holy Fawn and Movements.

Planning to unleash some of their most refined work to date upon the world soon as well as promising an engaging and unique live show, it is no wonder that Angel Number are one of the most exciting rising bands in the UK to look out for right now. This has only been the start for them.
