IInsider Trading are a four-piece blending post-punk aesthetics with post-rock structures, shoegaze textures and slowcore restraint. Formed in Edinburgh, they’ve built a reputation as one of Scotland’s most captivating live acts, touring extensively across the underground and sharing stages with some of the UK’s most exciting emerging artists. Their latest EP, From Leith to New York, explores familiar themes of the contemporary UK underground, balancing fragile, emotional passages with overwhelming, cacophonous crescendos, all tied together by deliberate and accomplished instrumentation.
Enabling Behaviour are a noise rock band from Cardiff, pulling together strands of heavy psych, goth, post-punk and art rock into something abrasive, unsettling and deeply compelling.
Fair Maiden are a brand-new psychedelic folk-rock odyssey, barely out of the rehearsal room and already threatening structural damage. Their debut shows caused amber weather warnings as audiences drifted away on sprawling 8–12 minute compositions. Built on the concrete foundations of bassist Henry and drummer Dylan, with guitarist Isaac providing structural support and singer Emma handling the external cladding, this Pritzker Prize-worthy assembly has already left listeners flat on the floor, whimpering. Fans of ’70s folk, ’90s gaze and twiglets should probably call their mums and let them know they’re having a lovely time.
Muntjacs are a four-piece alt-rock band from Leeds. With an ever-growing backlog of original material and consistently high-energy live performances, they’ve earned praise for the grit, urgency and introspection running through their music.
