Holly Hudson: Fine, Actually

  • Hyde Park Book Club 27-29 Headingley Lane Leeds, LS6 1BL United Kingdom (map)

Fine, Actually is 50 minutes of stand-up and storytelling about a midlife American woman abroad trying to explain her country of origin without becoming personally responsible for it. Cultural collision, reinvention, dating, family, ageing, and the very specific modern experience of trying to stay composed while privately refreshing the news like you've been assigned to monitor the apocalypse. The political keeps crashing into the personal, which turns out to be the whole problem.

Holly Hudson came up on the London comedy circuit and has performed at venues including Laugh Factory Chicago, The Second City, and Zanies in the US. Originally from the American Midwest and now based between London and LA, she brings a sharp, politically charged take on midlife, Americans abroad, and the slow-motion implosion of the American experiment. Her sketches and stand-up clips have built an audience of 357K followers and earned more than 70M views online.
