Chris Blackwood is a Leeds-based singer-songwriter whose music lies between crushing myth-based introspection, and a wide-eyed longing to overcome oneself.

His third album, Tantalus Unbound, recorded at Leeds's Nave Studios, was released in April 2025. The album follows Tantalus, who tries to reach for everything he wants, but is continually self-sabotaged. Tantalus goes through grief, self-denial and longing to reach an unbinding: painful yes, but necessary.
