Futuresound Events Presents

Roller Derby is not only the name of a feminist roller sport, but also the name of the

dream pop duo from Hamburg, formed in 2020. Blending 60s melodies and nostalgic

80s textures with modern indie pop, Roller Derby craft a sound that’s both dreamy and

direct.

The band has sold out shows across Europe and America including renowned festivals such as Reeperbahn Festival, The Great Escape, and SXSW (US).

When The Night Comes – An album that glows and floats:

With When The Night Comes, Roller Derby deliver a debut album that draws its strength

from subtlety and emotional depth. Produced by Moses Schneider (Pixies), the record

combines an international sound with a charming DIY feel. Across ten tracks, the band

creates a melancholic, dreamy atmosphere, evoking the best moments of Alvvays, Beach House, and Mazzy Star.

"Dream-pop duo Roller Derby shine on their debut album. These transportive tracks

boast ethereal vocals, wistful lyricism, and a captivating blend of ‘80s synth pop and

contemporary dreamgaze, making When The Night Comes an impressive first full-length."

 – KEXP

"Sometimes music feels like a warm embrace: a debut album full of dreamy pop gems."

 – Visions (Germany)

"Brilliant 80s-inspired dream pop"
