The Roundhouse Poetry Slam is the UK’s leading spoken word competition and one of our most anticipated live events. Since first taking to the stage in 2006, it has helped launch the careers of countless poets and writers, bringing together some of the most exciting voices in spoken word.

More than a competition, the Slam is a celebration of the power of words and the artists who wield them. Join us for the Leeds heat and experience bold, original performances from emerging poets at the very start of their journeys.

After battling through seven national heats, the strongest voices will progress to the Final on Thu 9 April in Camden on Roundhouse’s main stage as part of the Roundhouse Three Sixty Festival — where one will be crowned the Roundhouse Slam Champion.

Plus performances from heat judges Maria Ferguson, Bradley Taylor, plus a third very special guest host, TBA! The event will be hosted by Matt Abbott and is co-produced with LIVEwire Poetry.
