Food Waste Exposed: Ramen Pop-up

Between 30-40% of all food produced globally ends up not being eaten, a tragic and maddening fact when you know that 1 in 9 people suffer from a hunger related disorder.

This Food Waste Exposed event aims to lay bare the structural issues that allow the loss of food to be so rife. But rather than bombard you with information, they want to engage you by demonstrating the exciting potential of these overlooked, undervalued and discarded ingredients. The event will celebrate these ingredients by showcasing their versatilely and flavours in the form of ramen! All the food for this event will be salvaged fresh from local supermarkets, businesses, restaurants and Food Banks. Have you ever had noodles made from ground-up stale bread? Fancy trying cauliflower leaf crisps instead of kale crisps? Or replace sesame seeds with ground popcorn?

All proceeds will be reinvested back into the fight against food waste and into projects, such as Rainbow Junktion Community Cafe and The Real Junk Food Project.

Tickets are exchangeable for bowls of ramen. Alternatively, you can pay in cash on the day.
