Black Beacon Sound presents...Dig Deep! An all-day-long event of record shop crate diggin' and live-set mixing.

From 2pm-6pm, Black Beacon Sound's mobile record shop is open to the public, for the diggers, to discover rarities, exclusives, and some extra special second hand stock. Families and children are also welcome here.

Then from 6pm onwards, all things turns gig-friendly under the premise of the 'Dig Deep' mix challenge; whereby guest acts complete a one-off live set under the conditions of: one hour to dig...one hour to prepare...and one hour to record a mix, playing in front of a live audience in the evening.

This edition's special guest is Mr Thing; known worldwide, a name synonymous with hip-hop, funk, and turntablist culture, Mr Thing always brings smiles and astonishment to the faces of fans and promoters alike through his genius performances of impeccable skill.

Since 1987, he has been non-stop perfecting his art (winning the 1999 DMC World Team Championships with the Scratch Perverts and then by himself in 2000), and is understandably now recognised as one of the world's best. Touring the globe with an understanding of music that is second to none, he always creates flawless and exciting sets mixing some of the rarest with some of the best-loved records ever heard with an effortless ease honed after years dedicated to the art.

BBE Music enlisted Mr Thing to compile the third instalment of their 'The Kings of Hip-Hop' series, alongside veteran producer and hip-hop royalty DJ Premier, And by that time, he had obtained a residency at the world-famous London Fabric nightclub and had built a strong, collaborative relationship with London MC Yungun, too.
