Skint & Demoralised

Following a six-year hiatus, Skint & Demoralised returned with brand new single 'Boro Kitchen 4am' on 29 March. After receiving heavy airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music from one of the band's old champions Steve Lamacq, they follow it up with second single '#RefugeesWelcome' on 14 June (available to pre-order now on all platforms).

This will be their first live performance up north for 6 years, in their native West Yorkshire nevertheless. Support comes from two of West Yorkshire's finest spoken word artists, Kirsty Taylor and Simon Widdop Poet.

"Lyrically cutting and insightful, it gets to the crux of the Brexit conundrum and its endless contradictions...after hearing 'Boro Kitchen 4am', the rule book on how to re-invent yourself as an anarchic and poetic force has been re-written" Travellers Tunes

"Lyrical, raw and arguing with the insistence of its setting: politics and cheap lager at a Teesside party, when it's time to go home but nobody's got the time, not to think about that" The State of The Arts

S&D are releasing their new material through iconic indie label Fierce Panda, with their fourth album 'We Are Humans' set to follow at the end of summer, before the band embark on a UK tour. Since their last album 'The Bit Between The Teeth' was released in 2013, Matt Abbott Poet has gone on to establish himself on the UK's flourishing spoken word scene, and David J Gledhill has gained international acclaim as a producer on his SOULS project.

This new incarnation of the band is urgent, political, and exactly what's needed in 2019 Britain.
