Violet Gang Leeds: Mantis State / Istsof / Everyday People

Violet Gang Leeds presents Mantis State with support from I Set The Sea On Fire and Everyday People at Hyde Park Book Club, Leeds. Wednesday 24th April. £6 ADV // £8 OTD.

Mantis State

"This funk rock outfit formed in 2015 at Leeds College of Music, inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Prince and Jamiroquai. Big and bright brass sounds weave playfully around the band’s rock-solid and infectious grooves that you just can’t help but dance to."

I Set The Sea On Fire

"I Set The Sea On Fire have gradually evolved their unique sound, and finally settled on a genre most likely to be described as an offshore oil rig explosion. Combining traditional Indie Rock with elements of Hip Hop, Funk and Grunge, I Set The Sea On Fire have earned their status as THE Alternative band to watch in Sheffield."

Everyday People

“Musically this is a band who know their chops, the playing is just way up there...this thing has a whole load of soul, a shedload of funk but it has a rock edge. And it grooves people, it grooves hard.” - Local Sound Focus

Everyday People are a 5 piece New Wave Funk and Soul band from Leeds, UK. Formed from their old school funk influences and modern technique, the band have been making a name for themselves in their local music scene.

With their first single featured on BBC Introducing on Radio Leeds, Everyday People are currently working on writing and releasing new music.
