WE'RE BACK!

After an extended hiatus filled with much discussion and deliberation, we're ready to announce our next event. This time round, instead of catering solely to the 170bpm end of the musical spectrum, we're opening things up a bit. We’re bringing it back to our original vision for Artificial Barriers. No genre semantics or power struggles, no scene politics or snobbery and no exclusivity. (Don't despair though 170 crew, we'll still be playing plenty of what you love!)

For our first event we've got the extremely talented Nausika and Chris I'Anson playing for us.

Nausika has been putting some lovely stuff out onto the drum & bass scene for a good while now, with releases on long established labels Blu Mar Ten Music and Subtitles Music. We're very fortunate to have him coming down and are looking forwards to seeing what he's got in store.

Chris I'Anson is a long time friend of Artificial Barriers and our first non-170 focused guest. As the head of Slipstone Records and founding member of what must be one of the best nights in Leeds, On Rotation, he's a dab hand behind the decks with an ear for musical quality to match.

As the focus of our night is to give a platform for great electronic music which is perhaps viewed as not entirely dancefloor appropriate to be played, expect something different from what you usually hear from both of our guests!

In addition to this, we've got the extremely talented Sophie Marschner (https://www.sophiemarschner.com/) sorting us out with some top class visuals for the night.

We can't wait to see you all down at our first event of 2019; it's sure to be a great one!
