Overture presents: Andrew Kemp (Brudenell Groove)

Firstly hats off to all who came to dance with Tom VR last month, he didn’t half play some fantastic stuff. What’s more, his label Valby Rotary has since been voted #16 in Mixmag’s Best Record Labels of 2017, nice work!

This month we welcome our good friend and mainstay of Leeds’ community-led party scene, Andrew Kemp.

As one of the leading organisers and residents of Brudenell Groove, Andrew is responsible for inspiring an ever-expanding community of dancers to party with a purpose. Though it already feels like an institution (the party is still a wee 18 months old), Andrew, Ollie and the rest of the family have contributed something quite remarkable to the city's nightspots.

And it continues to grow, thanks to their simple yet resounding party values; ensuring a safe and welcoming space for everyone, raising money and awareness for local charities, creating some wonderful party themes, and leaving the tunes in the hands of tried and trusted residents.

As the music goes, a rummage through Andy’s record collection is a guaranteed quest for gold. From afrobeat to techno to minimal to UK Garage, he’s promised some real stocking-fillers for our festive special. We're thrilled to have him down.

So come join us for our last dance of 2017, it’s cold outside!
